Raven's Charm

This year, Imbolc and the Full Moon arrive together on February 1, which feels quietly significant. Imbolc marks the subtle turning toward spring. This is the point where we start making plans, even if winter still has a firm hold. The Full Moon adds illumination and awareness to that shift.

Rather than pushing for action, this pairing favors noticing what’s starting to stir. It's not about sudden change. It’s about readiness. The land hasn’t bloomed yet, but the conditions are being set for the coming spring. From a practical craft perspective, this is an ideal time to work with your tools—both old and new.

Imbolc supports:
  • Consecrating and dedicating new tools
  • Charging items you plan to work with in the coming months
  • Cleansing and re-consecrating tools you already use
This doesn’t need to be elaborate. A candle, a clear intention, and a moment of focus are enough. The goal is alignment, not intensity.

Full Moon Energy: Awareness and Release

The Full Moon brings illumination. It highlights what’s working, what isn’t. Because the Moon moves through constant cycles of growth, fullness, release, and rest, each Full Moon marks a natural point of transition rather than an ending.

When the Full Moon coincides with Imbolc, that transitional energy becomes more noticeable. It’s easier to see how your practices, habits, or tools are evolving and where transformation is already underway, even if it’s subtle.

This is a good time to:
  • Acknowledge the cycles you’re moving out of
  • Release what no longer fits your current work
  • Reset how you engage with your tools
Transformation here isn’t sudden. It happens through awareness and intentional release' It's creating space for the next phase to unfold.

Working with Imbolc and the Full Moon Together

When seasonal and lunar markers align, the work becomes clearer and more focused. Imbolc sets the stage for what’s coming, while the Full Moon brings visibility to what needs attention now.

Working with both together supports:
  • Letting go of what no longer fits before moving forward
  • Preparing tools, practices, and intentions for the next cycle
  • Staying present instead of rushing into action
February favors steady, conscious adjustments. Listening, observing, and tending what you already have creates a stronger foundation for the growth that follows in spring. For me, having Imbolc and the Full Moon arrive together feels like an opportunity to pause and reset my practice for the year ahead. It’s a moment to simplify, reconnect with the tools I love, and let go of anything that’s started to feel like obligation instead of choice. Craft should be something that brings clarity and even joy, and this time of year is a good reminder to return to the parts of the practice that feel meaningful and alive.
